Tour participants will be guests at a privately-owned 18th century château, which has been in the Carcaradec family for 9 generations. Château de Kerivon is one of the few remaining châteaux whose original furnishings have not been dispersed throughout the centuries.

The Carcaradec family has been established in Lannion since 1620, and Gerald is the ninth owner of the present château, which was built in 1741 to replace a previous manor house. Kerivon was built in the restrained eighteenth- century architectural style typical of Brittany during the reign of Louis XV known as "style militaire." The château is furnished with original family pieces purchased by his ancestors or received as wedding gifts down through the generations.

Kerivon is a registered national and regional landmark which is not open to the public. As a participant in our culinary tour, you will have the unique experience of traveling back in time to live "La Vie de Château."

The grounds of Kerivon were originally designed by François de Carcaradec (1781 - 1850) who was deputy for Lannion under the restoration government from 1815 to 1830. The estate covers roughly 150 acres and includes five ponds and several kilometers of beech-lined drives. Kerivon's stables house a rare collection of carriages, harnesses, and riding gear from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which were collected by Gerald's great grandfather, Anatole, an avid horseman and a great fan of carriage driving.
